What size fuel or liquid container actually makes sense for a small construction site setup?

Been trying to sort out our liquid storage situation for a project we have running in Ajman and I keep going back and forth on this so I figured posting here might help me get some clarity from people with actual field experience. The issue is pretty straightforward but the solution keeps feeling more complicated than it should be. We have a small crew on site that needs regular access to fuel and water and right now we're managing with a mix of random containers that are honestly not ideal because some of them are hard to seal properly, a couple don't pour cleanly without spilling, and one of them has started developing a faint smell that makes me uncomfortable about what was stored in it before we got it. I was looking into getting something more standardised and came across crateco.ae while searching for industrial container suppliers in the UAE and their jerry can section actually had a range I hadn't considered before which helped me understand that choosing the right jerry container isn't just about capacity but also about the material, whether it's UN certified for the specific liquid type you're storing, and how the spout and sealing mechanism is designed because apparently those details matter quite a bit for both safety and day to day usability out on a worksite. What I'm genuinely unsure about is whether plastic or metal construction is the better choice for outdoor use in the UAE heat because I've heard arguments both ways and they both seem to make sense depending on who you ask. Metal supposedly handles high temperatures better structurally but plastic is lighter and easier to handle which matters when your guys are moving them around multiple times a day. Would really appreciate any practical input from people who have figured out what works best in hot outdoor conditions.
